IL DIARIO DI LEA

“IL DIARIO DI LEA”, LEA’S NOTEBOOK is the illustrated story of Lea Garofalo, born and raised in a criminal mafia environment who, for the love of her daughter, became a justice witness.

From Navarra Editore’s website:
“The texts, accompanied by illustrations, are inspired by statements collected during the trial and by phrases taken from her diary. Thanks to the court testimonies and the information written in Lea Garofalo’s diary, Eleonora Frida Mino and Giulia Salza retrace her life and struggles, alongside the choices of her daughter Denise.”

DIARI RIBELLI

REBEL DIARIES is a series of ILLUSTRATED BOOKS printed and published by Navarra Editore (Palermo, Sicily) that individually tell the lives and stories of women who challenged and fought against the mafia.

They can be ordered at any Italian bookstore and on the Navarra Editore website at this LINK

The work originates from theatrical performances and lecture-performances that are still presented in national theater circuits.

The collaboration between Eleonora Frida Mino and Giulia Salza has lasted many years and is the result of the meeting of two professional skills: authorship/theater and painting/illustration.
Among the various shows that the artists have created together with words and images, we highlight
“Emanuela Loi: the girl from Borsellino’s escort” and “The Rebels: women who challenged the mafia.”

The fight against the mafia is not an exclusively male prerogative, but it is also carried forward by courageous women whom we want to give face and voice to—and this is possible also thanks to the synergy between theater and books.
